Wes Anderson directs all-star ensemble cast including Tom Hanks and Scarlett Johansson in his 11th feature film

Asteroid City is a sci-fi romantic-comedy drama film written and directed by Wes Anderson for Focus Features. It is the 11th feature film from Academy Award winner Anderson who is known for his uniquely-styled and eccentric films including The Royal Tenenbaums, Fantastic Mr. Fox and The Grand Budapest Hotel. Similarly to every one of his previous movies, the screenplay is written by Anderson with story by credits including himself and Roman Coppola. Coppola previously collaborated with Anderson on the screenplays of The Darjeeling Limited and Moonrise Kingdom. Asteroid City is produced by Anderson, Steven Rales and frequent collaborator Jeremy Dawson.

Anderson is known for having a number of major Hollywood talents appear in his ensemble casts and Asteroid City is no exception. The cast list for the film boasts being “larger than most other Anderson films that are ensemble in nature” and they include Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson as Midge Campbell, Tom Hanks, Jeffrey Wright as General Gibson, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber as Ed, Hope Davis, Stephen Park, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Hong Chau, Willem Dafoe, Margot Robbie, Tony Revolori, Jake Ryan as Woodrow Steenbeck, Jeff Goldblum, Sophia Lillis, Fisher Stevens, Ethan Josh Lee, Grace Edwards, Aristou Meehan, Rita Wilson, Jarvis co*cker and Bob Balaban.
