1. Pokémon Go Strength of Steel Research & Collection Quests
The Strength of Steel event is now live in Pokémon Go, offering a plethora of exciting opportunities for trainers! Complete Timed Research, Field Research, and three Collection Challenges to encounter powerful Steel-type Pokémon and boost your collection with Mega Energy.
Take advantage of triple Catch Stardust, extra Catch XL Candy, and increased XL Candy chances, as well as the debut of Shiny Togedemaru. The event also features the highly anticipated Mega Lucario Raid Day.
2. Pokémon Go Strength of Steel Timed Research Tasks
Complete Pokémon Go’s Strength of Steel Timed Research Tasks between July 25, 10 am, and July 30, 8 pm, local time, to claim exclusive rewards before the deadline.
Take on the Strength of Steel Timed Research set, consisting of six challenging tasks, including catching 50 Steel-type Pokémon, evolving 10, and winning 3 Raid Battles.
Luckily, the event features plenty of Steel-type spawns and Raid Bosses to help you succeed. See the tasks andrewardsbelow.

3. Pokémon Go Strength of Steel Field Research Tasks
Spin PokéStops during the Strength of Steel event to receive event-exclusive Field Research Tasks. These are available during the same period but can be completed afterward if you have space in your Research Task tab.
However, consider completing some tasks during the event, as the rewarded encounters can help you finish the Collection Challenge and make the most of the event’s benefits. See the tasks andrewardsbelow.

4. Pokémon Go Strength of Steel Collection Challenges
Collection Challenges and their rewards are only available during the event, so catch or evolve required Pokémon and claim rewards by July 30, 8 pm, local time.
Complete three Collection Challenges during the Strength of Steel event by catching or evolving four Steel-type Pokémon for each challenge. While catching Pokémon like Magnemite and Aron should be straightforward, evolving others may take more time as you’ll need to accumulate sufficient Candy.
1. Heavy Metal Collection Challenge
Complete the Heavy Metal Collection Challenge by July 30th at 8 pm local time and earn a rewarding bundle: 5000 Stardust, an encounter with Aggron, and a boost of 100 Aggron Mega Energy.
Two of the Pokémon in this challenge can only be earned through evolution, so catching them through other means won’t count (Including Aggron caught through a Three-Star Raid Boss).
So focus on catching the necessary Pokémon and collecting enough Candy to evolve them. Remember to use Pinap Berries for a Candy boost. See the list of Pokémon andhow to collect thembelow:

2. This Ore That Collection Challenge
Complete the ‘This Ore That’ Collection Challenge by July 30th at 8 pm local time and get rewarded with 5000 Stardust, a Steelix encounter, and 100 SteelixMegaEnergy.
Note that two Pokémon can only be obtained through evolution, so ensure you evolve them correctly. The most challenging task is evolving Magneton into Magnezone, requiring 100 Candy and a Magnetic Lure Module.
Obtain the Magnetic Lure module through the Strength of Steel Timed Research or purchase it for 180 PokéCoins. Then, place the Lure on a PokéStop and evolve Magneton into Magnezone within its radius. See the list of Pokémon andhow to collect thembelow:

3. Chrome Catch Collection Challenge
The Chrome Catch Collection Challenge is the final challenge in this event, and it’s available until July 30th at 8 pm local time, rewarding you with5000 Stardust, a Scizor encounter, and 100 Scizor Mega Energy.
Fortunately, this challenge doesn’t require any Pokémon evolutions. Simply catch the required Pokémon in the wild, raids, or through event-exclusive research tasks.
Note that Skarmory is a rare wild spawn, so consider defeating it as a Raid Boss or completing the Strength of Steel Timed Research for a rewarding encounter. See the list of Pokémon andhow to collect thembelow:

Join the Mega Lucario Raid Day on July 27th (11 am – 5 pm local time) for the chance to catch Mega Lucario in raids, with increased shiny encounter rates! Enjoy these bonuses:
- 5 free Raid Passes from spinning Gyms
- 1.5x extra XP from raids
- Increased Rare Candy XL chances from in-person raids
- Remote Raid Limit increased to 20 (July 26th, 5 pm – July 28th 8 pm local time)
